Stephen Box, Shawn Simons and Len Shaffer will focus on the issue of folding the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment into the Community Development Department, as proposed by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

Councilman Paul Krekorian, 2nd District, Chair of the Education and Neighborhoods Committee.

Panel Discussion

Jack Humpreville and Doug Epperhart will discuss the overall budget situation in the City and the impact of the proposal to lay off more than 4,000 city employees.

Special Guest # 2

Julie Butcher, of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) will provide labor's perspective of the current budget situation.  SEIU represents over 10,000 city workers.
