For the purposes of  Neighborhood Councils, the City has been split into seven areas, following the Area Planning Commission lines set by the Planning Department.

     NORTH VALLEY
Including Granada Hills, Sunland-Tujnga, Sylmar, Northridge, Sun Valley, Arleta-Pacoima, Chatsworth and Mission Hills-North Hills

     SOUTH VALLEY
Including Studio City-Sherman Oaks, Canoga Park-Woodland Hills, Encino-Tarzana, Reseda, Van Nuys and North Hollywood

     WEST LA
including Westwood, Venice, Westchester, Brentwood-Palisades, West Los Angeles, Palms-Mar Vista and Bel-Air 

     CENTRAL LA
Including Hollywood, Wilshire, Westlake, Central City and Central City North

     EAST
Including Northeast Los Angeles, Boyle Heights and Silver Lake-Echo Park

     SOUTH LA
Including West Adams-Baldwin Hills-Leimert, South Central Los Angeles and Southeast Los Angeles

    HARBOR
